Intervention - Mrs. Moore

Hello My Name Is...

JoAnne Moore

My name is JoAnne Moore, and I’m very pleased to join the staff of NGSA as an intervention support teacher. I have taught for more than 23 years in grades K-12 in various public, private, and charter schools across three states. I grew up in Waco, Texas and completed my BS in education at Baylor University. My husband, Jim, and I have just celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary. We have three wonderful adult children and three adorable grandchildren, and a fourth, arriving just in time for Thanksgiving.

We stayed in Texas for many years until we got tired of the hot summers. Then we moved to Seattle, where we lived for several years until we got tired of the persistent clouds. Our next move was to Southern California where the weather is perfect. My passion is working with students who learn differently and often struggle in traditional school settings. So we’ve been moving slowly north as I find different schools that are seeking alternative ways to reach all students.

Along with teaching, my hobbies include reading, scrapbooking-traditional and digital, watching movies, and traveling to visit family and sightsee. I also like to go on walks around the neighborhood, on the beach, and, best of all, Disneyland!

I am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful school, helping to build an intervention and support system that will lead all students to successfully reach their life goals. We’re happy to have landed in Tracy, even though it is as hot as Texas!
